![]() ![]() Matt Abrams found his way to the shores of Lake Kawagasaga as a camper in 1989. From 1989 (1992 CIT) through the summer of 2001, Kawaga left a big impression on Matt and he left his mark on Kawaga. Matt’s Sachem name is a well described, Mighty Stallion. Matt served in many leadership roles during his days as a counselor and camp administrator. While new to Kawaga, Karen "Dewey" Abrams has long been a part of the leadership team at a neighboring girls' camp, Camp Agawak. Since joining the Agawak staff in 1994 as a counselor, she has held numerous positions. Dewey first was a counselor and then served over as Head Counselor, Program Director and for the past 7 summers as Assistant Director. Kawaga is owned by the Fisher Family. Bobby, Michael, Marc, and David all were long-time Kawaga campers and counselors. Their sons and nephews are campers and counselors, too. David—also known as Duke—is the former director and was Taz’s counselor! The Fishers have owned Kawaga since 1987.
Fred Geraci is an Assistant Director and has been at Kawaga since 1992. His warm personality and his experience as a teacher and coach for over 35 years makes him an essential part of Kawaga's staff. Ben Zollo is also an Assistant Director and has spent 15 years at Kawaga. As a former camper, counselor and Program Director, Ben helps carry on the traditions and values of Kawaga. Ben has a Master's Degree in Education and is a teacher during the off-season.
