Camp Kawaga sits on 100 beautifully wooded acres surrounded on three sides by Lake Kawaguesaga. Twenty-eight cabins wind up
and around the main part of Camp. Our Mess Hall seats 250 people — so we all eat together like a family. The Rec Hall is
where we watch movies and performances.
Land Sports - Kawaga has three softball fields, six full basketball courts, three brand-new tennis courts, three soccer/football fields, a new full roller-hockey rink, two sand volleyball courts, and ranges for archery and riflery.
Water Activities - Kawaga has an incredible water-ski program that features four state-of-the-art ski boats and two separate docks, including one with a boat house. Our veteran ski staff has developed campers into accomplished skiers. Whether it's two-skiing, slaloming through our permanent slalom course, doing a 180 on a wakeboard, barefooting around the bay, or tubing with your buddies, the ski docks are always active!
Our waterfront is the ultimate place for swimming! in the morning we have instructional swims, and in the afternoon campers take advantage of all the fun on Kawaga Dock. You can jump or dive off the three-tier tower, shoot down the drop slide, jump on the water trampoline, get launched off the blob, test your balancing skills on the inflatable log, or hang out on a raft. We also have an outstanding sailing program, and every year we award campers their basic sailing certification. In addition, campers spend time on the lake in canoes, kayaks, rowboats, and you can even fish off our Pontoon boat. Other Facilities - Other buildings you should know about are the Council Ring (for Powwows), Bide-a-Wee (home to our adult staff and downstairs rec room for the campers), the Pineneedle Office (programming hub), and the Arts & Crafts Shop, and Crow's Nest (our infirmary and home to our resident RNs and camp doctors, who are on call 24 hours a day). Kawaga is in the midst of a multiyear capital-improvements project, which has already added and improved courts, fields, cabins, and camp buildings, as well as reforested our camp grounds. As with everything at Kawaga, our philosophy is to continually improve. Our Directors and Owners, though proud that Kawaga is recognized as one of the finest boys' camps in the country, are constantly evaluating every aspect of camp with an eye toward making Kawaga even better. |
