From Chicago's North Shore
  • Take I94 to Milwaukee; bypass Milwaukee on I-894.
  • Roughly 30 miles north of Madison, take Hwy I-78/I-39 North (Exit 108), which becomes Hwy 51 North to Minocqua.
  • Just south of Minocqua, turn left at Northern Road (Island City Bowling Lanes is on the corner).
  • Follow Northern Road to Kawaga Rd. Turn left and follow Kawaga Road to the end. 2 miles total from Hwy 51.
  • (If you get to the town of Minocqua, you missed the turn-off for Northern Road).
From the city of Chicago
  • Take the N.W. Tollway 90 to 78 North.
  • Continue with the above directions from this point.
  • If driving from outside the Chicago area, this is a better route.
